Engineered Hardwood, Barrie, ON

We’d love the opportunity to show you how engineered hardwood flooring can transform your Barrie home!

Engineered Hardwood in Barrie, ONIf you have a passionate appreciation for the luxurious beauty of solid hardwood flooring, but are looking for a more budget-friendly option, the perfect solution is engineered hardwood. Engineered hardwood is made from many of the same tree species that solid hardwood is made from, but due to a less costly manufacturing process and the inclusion of lower-cost materials, it is more affordable.

In addition, at Giant Carpet Flooring Centre, we have many different price points represented in engineered hardwood, so you have a range to choose from. Engineered hardwood flooring is manufactured by joining layers of wood. Usually only the top layer is the wood species designated. You get the beauty of that particular wood without the cost of solid wood. If you look at two floors, one made with solid and the other with engineered hardwood, you would not be able to tell the difference.

Engineered hardwood floors can be sanded down just as a hardwood floor can be. The only difference is that you would not be able to do it for as many times before it would need to be replaced. However, the higher the quality of the engineered hardwood, the thicker the top layer and the more times you could sand it down. With proper care, your engineered hardwood floor may never need to be sanded down, so this is not a major concern for most families. Engineered hardwood can also go below grade and can go on concrete floors, where solid hardwood cannot.
